Hi...

I'm entering an MA in Psychology program at a "distant-learning" school
in which I will be planning my own course of studies. I am trying to put
together a "basic bibliography" of reference/text books which I can use
to give me a grounding in basic developmental psychology issues, client
assessment and testing, and a basic understanding of major thought and
therapies in the 20th century. I am primarily interested in clinical
work as a therapist and not research.

While I do not have the usual background of an undergraduate psychology
major, I have a great amount of life experience in personal process and
spiritual practice. So I am trying to fill in gaps in my understanding
in a somewhat unconventional way.

I will be working with a PhD mentor to help guide my studies, but in
preparing for that I would appreciate any

                -book lists for university courses
                -ideas for researching appropriate materials
-recommendations of particular authors and/or books which would
 be
helpful in the areas I described in the first paragraph.
-xeroxes by snail mail would also be great!!

as the literature can be totally overwhelming without a
 direction or
guidance.

I appreciate any help you might be able to offer.

                        Gratefully,
