Subject: Re: distance learning bib

Hi Stephen,

I, too, am a graduate student in a distance learning program in counseling
psychology. I've found the experience exhausting at times, a little scary at
first, but overall I'm most grateful for the opportunity to develop my study
around state requirements as well as follow my own nose. I have a field
faculty advisor who is a Ph.D in the field, as you do, and she has been
indispensible in keeping me oriented as my interests have developed.

I am beginning my second year and have a good sized, up-to-date bibliography
in several areas, including all the usual ones: human growth and dev., social
and cultural studies, professional orientation, assessment, measurement,
diagnosis and treatment, personality and treatment theory, and a few of my own
interests including cultural psychology, health psychology, treatment
modalities & theories, etc. etc.

I'll be happy to pass the bib along. You included your mailing address so I'll
send it there. Good luck!

I wonder if Diane or anyone else who has knowledge about accredited distance
learning doctoral programs in either counseling or clinical psuchology would
give information about their cost, location, etc. In my case, I have had to
defer my admission to a regular Psy.D. program because I just plain can't
afford to go. If there are any other valid options out there, I would love to
know about them.

Thanks.
