QS-9000 Issues for the Chemical/Bulk Material Industries
SUMMARY
The dimensioned parts concepts embedded in QS-9000 are causing confusion
and other difficulties in the Chemical and Process Industries (CPI).
Proper interpretation and implementation of the additional QS-9000
requirements can lead to significant improvements in quality, cost and
performance, while minimizing non-value added bureaucracy.  This paper
is being published in early 1998, just prior to release of the 3rd
edition of QS-9000, and with the first draft of
BMAP (Bulk Material Approval Process for the paint industry) nearing
completion.
