I was talking about the "non-MIL" world of ISO-9000. There is no require-
ment for tracing unless you set it up within your own system. In the
commercial world, you'll typically not know what piece of equipment was
used to test which final assembly, nor does the customer care.
I did have a particularly dense Gov't Inspector tell me that, "We want you
to set up an expensive system, you can just raise your price to us."
Sorry, folks, that doesn't work in the commercial world, and it shouldn't
work in the MIL-Procurement world either. (What ever happened to Cost of
Quality?)

We've been ISO-9001 registered for 2 years. Good luck with yours.
