In the beginning of June, 1994 the research paper describing and analyzing
the business consolidation process within the international corporation,
Ahlstrom Corporation - Pulp and Paper Machinery, becomes public and
available for all interested individuals. This will be a major contribution
to both research and education. It may also help many industries to obtain
a better understanding of the business consolidation processes.

The research paper describes very accurately the process for consolidating
current business units in North America between May 1990 and May 1991. This
case study really shows how difficult it is to consolidate current
operations and businesses in a global business environment. It will also
accurately identify and discuss problems, difficulties, mistakes and
results of the consolidation process and activities.
