Ok let me explain....
The globalization of markets, and the competition have led to
two parallel and visible "quality" thrusts, nationally and
internationally, viz., Malcolm Baldrige Award and ISO 9000.
Two common misconceptions stand out:
1. The MB Award and ISO 9000 registration are similar -- they cover
similar requirements in the same way.
2. The MB Award and ISO 9000 registration both address improvement,
both rely on high quality results and, hence, both are forms of recognition.
Based upon these widely held beliefs, some conclude that the Baldrige
Award and ISO 9000 are equivalent, rather than distinctly different
instruments that can reinforce one another when properly used.
The confusion relates to basic business management issues : quality
system definition, operational excellence requirements and how quality
is managed.
Hope this makes my question a bit better to understand...
