Subject: China Conference Program Defined

The ASQ/AQP steering committee members have developed the following

Haiyan Wang (Systematic problem resolution methods)

Track 3: Quality Systems

Todd Heller (Integrating ISO 14000 and ISO 9000)
Mark Lassen (Requirements, skills and gaps matrix)
Jo Ludford (Using ISO 9001 for managing facilities)
  Ofelia Barretto (Good manufacturing practices)

Track 4: Customer Satisfaction

Hank Wheeler (Int. and ext. customers in health care)
Mike Bryant (Automotive case study of problem solving)

12 additional presentations will be in "poster" format, to allow
for the exchange of ideas on an individual level.

Our counterparts from the China Quality Control Association will
now identify colleagues to present material on topics similar to
those above.

Day one (November 3) will begin with opening remarks and a keynote
presentation by Steve Bailey, Board Chairman of ASQ. The afternoon
will have two sessions of three concurrent tracks. Day two will
have technical papers in the morning and poster sessions, followed
by more technical papers, in the afternoon. Day three will consist
of site visits to local companies and government organizations. (We
called this a "field day" in primary school. [smile] The last day
will start with technical sessions in the morning. After lunch, we
will have a special session to discuss issues of interest to
quality professionals. The conference will close with summary
reports from the session managers of all four tracks.

After the conference, delegates may wish to participate in the
escorted three day program of local sightseeing and shopping (of
course!). The cost is $2,850 for the conference alone and $3,150
for all 8 days. This includes airfare to and from LAX, hotel rooms,
and meals other than dinner.

Due to the time and commitments for airplane seats, hotel rooms,
and conference space, we must have delegates register, with a down
payment deposit, by September 11th! To do so, please call Global
Interactions in Phoenix: (602) 906-8886 or <global@goodnet.com>.
