IBM/Waterloo SCRIPT/VS Programmer

Programmer needed to work in the VM/CMS operating system coding IBM
SCRIPT/VS macros for complex text formatting. (Those with Waterloo
SCRIPT experience rather than IBM SCRIPT are encouraged to apply
as well.) Our documents are authored in SGML on PC workstations and
uploaded to the mainframe for typesetting. The ideal candidate will
have
excellent knowledge in several of the following:

o IBM (or Waterloo) SCRIPT language (NOT just GML and/or
BookMaster, but the command language in which they are implemented),
including:
  - macro writing and GML Services
  - multi-column formatting
  - symbol manipulation
  - table coding
  - keeps and floats
  - inclusion of Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) images
  - Creation of PostScript output
o VM/CMS operating system
o XEDIT Editor
o PC/Mainframe file transfer (ASCII/EBCDIC translation and
  codepage selection)
o SGML

Other beneficial experience:

o REXX language
o PostScript language
o ArborText ADEPT Editor
o HTML
o CMS Pipelines
o OmniMark

If the ideal candidate fails to respond, we will consider a trainee
already familiar with VM/CMS. This position offers almost unlimited
growth potential within the VM/CMS environment.

Salary commensurate with experience.
