SIMULA prefixes all programs with the following (invisible) header:

external class basicio;
BASICIO(inlength, outlength) begin
inspect sysin do
inspect sysout do


This has the effect of making the standard files sysin and sysout the
default source for the names of outint, outfix, outimage etc. These
are predeclared names, not keywords, so you should be able to write
new procedures with the same names and these will be used instead. You
should place these procedures at the start of your program. I think it
will work.
