To All Subscribers of The SIMULA Language List,

Membership in the Association of SIMULA User's is available from:

The ASU Secretariat
c/o Henry Islo
The Royal Institute of Technology
Dept. of Manufacturing Systems
Brinellvagen 81
100 44 Stockholm, Sweden

Membership includes subscription to the ASU Newsletter published 3 to 4 times
per year. The newsletter is a forum for discussion, gives notice of coming
events and contains articles on object oriented programming. Coming issues will
continue to develop the ideas embodied in object systems which form
quasi-parallel systems. Nested hierarchies of quasi-parallel systems have
tremendous potential as AI tools for modeling and simulation of complex systems,
optimization of complex systems, distributed discrete event simulation and
decision support systems.

Languages such as SIMULA and BETA which implement objects with Life Rules in
addition to procedure and variable declarations can make full use of this
nested QPS technique. Coroutines represent a special mode of these LR containing
objects which while operating as an actor in some discrete event simulation can
carry within themselves other QPS's which in turn harbor other discrete
event simulations.

Membership for individuals costs 250:- Swedish Kronor (about $35.00).

There is something important going on in the ASU. Don't miss it.
