Dear SIMULA users and implementors,
on June 5-7, 1995, is to be the (th European Simulation Multiconference at
Prague, Czech Republic. In November, the General Copnference Chairman
suddenly died and it seemed the epreparing of the conference will come into
collapse, as he carried all in his mind. But nowadays, we hope the critical
situation has been overcome and the conference will be a reality.
I am the Program Chairman of its part Simulation and Object Oriented
Programming. The Conference Chairman is Prof. Ole-Johan Dahl and prof.
Kristen Nygaard promossed to be the incited speaker.
I would like the part to be a perfect presentatiaon of Simula and
eventually its sucessor Beta. According to my opinion, the ESMC will be an
excellent occasion to present good properties of SIMULA if compared with the
other OOP-tools, e.g. quasiparallel systems, class nesting, unique standard.
Especially what has been discussed in SIMULA Newsletter as SOOP (Super
Objectc-oriented Programming) - e.g. simulation of systems containing
simulating elements, simulation and concurrent engineering etc., would be of
a value, isn't it? From the other part, let us hope the conference to be an
occasion to meet two "fathers" of SIMULA, of OOP and of SOOP.
Excuse me that I am informing you so late. I wanted to do it only when
the conference realismus is clear.
The dead line for offering papers is Decemver 2. The papers shsould be
offered by "extended abstracts" (4-6 pages), send in 4 exemplars to the
General Program Chairman:
Milan Sujansky,
Technical University Kosice,
EF-KPI,
Letna 9,
SK - 04020 Kosice,
Slovak Republic.
I recommend to send the abstracts parallelly in ASCI code by e-mail to:
Milan.Sujansky@tuke.sk
and eventually to inform me, to the address
EVKIND@MS.MFF.CUNI.CZ
I could send the printed call for papers, or ask the officer of the Society
for Computer Simulation in Europe, Pgilippe Geril, by e-mail at the address
Philippe.Geril@rug.ac.be
In the call for papers there are such informations as the other deadlines,
the participants fee (15000 BF or 375 ECU for the authors, when they pay
before April 5, etc.), other parts of the conference and - naturally the
reply card for conference participants.
Do not hesitate to ask me for other information, if you need them.
With the best greetings
Eugene Kindler
