All of those interested in Object Oriented Simulation, both discrete
event and continuous, please consider attending and/or submitting
papers to the following conference. Please note that this tends to
be an academic/research oriented conference with significant exchanges
of ideas and conceptual discussion.

                           ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

WMC 1993 - San Diego, CA

The Society for Computer Simulation [SCS] presents:

                              Object-Oriented Simulation

part of the 1993 Western Multiconference on Computer Simulation

January 17-20, 1993, Hyatt Regency La Jolla, San Diego, California

The 1993 Object Oriented Simulation Conference of the 1993 WMC
will be a forum for the discussion and presentation of research
papers in all aspects of the application of object oriented
technology to simulation modeling and analysis. Past OOS
Conferences have provided a mechanism by which researchers in the
field have the ability to interact in a collegial atmosphere.

Papers and proposals for panel sessions or tutorials related
to Object-Oriented Simulation are invited. Specific topics and
sessions include, but are not limited to:

- Simulation specification and modeling
- Object-oriented architectures
- Simulation software, tools, and languages
- Object-oriented data base support
- Object-oriented user interfaces
- Object distribution and networking
- Parallel simulation architectures utilizing object-oriented
    constructs
- Distributed simulation utilizing object-oriented constructs

Papers may address topics in any of the areas where simulation
is used, for example, manufacturing, military applications,
physical system modeling, system control applications, etc.

Papers must contain original contributions. Panel or tutorial
proposals must address topics relevant to object-oriented
simulation.

Deadlines:
June 15, 1992 Submission of abstracts
July 1, 1992 Notification of initial acceptance
August 1, 1992 Full papers due (five copies)
September 7, 1992 Notification of final, full paper acceptance
September 30, 1992 Camera ready copies due at SCS (six 2 column
                      pages)

Abstracts and full papers should be sent to either of the two
conference chairmen. Abstracts will be reviewed by the two
conference chairmen for general suitability. Full papers are due
by August 1, 1992 for the beginning of the blind review process.
Each full paper will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. Upon
completion of review, paper acceptance and any suggestions for
improvements will be communicated to the principal author.

Submissions with a cover letter stating the name, affiliation,
address, phone number, FAX number, and e-mail address of the
primary author should be sent to the conference chairman. Because
the identity of authors and referees will not be revealed to each
other, author's names and affiliations should only appear on the
cover sheet.
