Im having trouble using the 'cim' compiler under unix. I previously used the
'sc' compiler, also under unix, but on another system.
The cim compiler is supposed to be fairly standard, but it complains on my
virtual: procedures, and also if i try to use a procedure as a parameter.
This little example, has been up and working with 'sc' but not with 'cim'
Has this to do with the fact that cim doesn't support virtuals' or uses
a different kind of syntax. Can anybody out there help me????
Example:
!--------------***start***-----------------;
BEGIN
CLASS example;
VIRTUAL:
PROCEDURE print_something;
BEGIN
print_something;
END;
example CLASS newstuff;
BEGIN
PROCEDURE print_something;
BEGIN
OutText("Hello from newstuff!!!"); Outimage;
END;
END;
example CLASS otherstuff;
BEGIN
PROCEDURE print_something;
BEGIN
OutText("Hello from otherstuff!!!"); Outimage;
END;
END;
! MAIN ;
REF(newstuff) ns;
REF(otherstuff) os;
ns:-NEW newstuff;
os:-NEW otherstuff;
END;
!---------------***** finnish *******;
The cim-compiler makes the following report:
"virt.sim", line 4: Formal or virtual procedure shall be specified.
