APPLICATIONS OF DISTRIBUTED & GRAPHICAL SIMULATION
- --------------------------------------------------

14th-16th October 1993
University of Aberdeen, King's College, Scotland, UK

TOPICS OF INTEREST
- ------------------

    Graphics and simulation
    Visualisation of models
    Distributed simulation
    Simulation environments
Modelling using SIMULA, C++ etc ...
    Object-oriented simulation

INVITATION TO REGISTER
- ----------------------

Aberdeen, known as "The Granite City", is located on the coast of
the NE of Scotland, within travelling distance of the Scottish Highlands,
famous for its Whisky Distilleries, Castles, and scenery. The conference
sessions will be held in King's College (parts of which date back to
16th Century) at the University of Aberdeen.

The technical programme of the conference will cover the theory and
applications of object-oriented simulation, distributed modelling,
and graphical interfaces to simulation models. The technical presentations
will be supplemented by demonstrations of appropriate software tools,
simulation environments and compilers. The conference language is English.

The programme includes a conference dinner on the evening of Thursday October
14th and an excursion to the Highland Region on Saturday 16th October to
visit a distillery and castle of historic and cultural interest. Morning
and afternoon refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided on Thursday

ABOUT THE ASU
- -------------

The ASU is a professional oganisation concerned with computerised modelling
of complex systems,as well as the design of complex software using the
object-oriented programming paradigm.

The SIMULA language is the first, and still an advanced, software tool of
the object-oriented paradigm. Although the ASU started as the SIMULA users'
club, its members now are engaged in a variety of modelling and software
design work.

Hope to see you in Aberdeen,

The ASU Council
