Hi
As a spotter, I think it is also the responcibility of us to be on top
of things...As far as being a volunteer spotter, we should be sure we
understand the task at hand... ie. What to look for... how to report, how to be
efficient!! If we do not think we have reached that level at our skywarn
training we should bring it to the attention of the skywarn training
personnel... Maybe they could go over the concerns you have with everyone
while you are still at the training session... In fact this is preferred in
case others have the same questions... or simply did not fully understand a
topic!! Also, we should test ourselves occassionally... ie.. "off-air"
practice..
pretend you are observing severe wx... write down what u see, and write a
report... keep these tests reports handy, for review... Then when the real
thing happens.. you will remember what your task is exactly, what to report,
who to report to, and how to report, quickly!
Just some thought on the subject of spotter training!!! 73
