We will be holding a National Weather Service SKYWARN training session in Haverhill, Massachusetts (20 miles north of Boston, MA next town east of Lawrence, Ma on Rt. 495) on Saturday, 15-MAY-1999. The training will start at 12:00 Noon and will last about three hours. We have secured a hall on the campus of "The Northern Essex Community College" Spark Building (Building C), Lecture Hall A Elliot Way, Haverhill, MA. This training is open to the general public and is FREE of charge. If you have an interest in how the weather works, or if you're an amateur radio operator who would like to be trained in joining the SKYWARN Severe Weather Net in your area, this is the time to do it. If it's been more then two (2) years since your last training, the NWS recommends you retrain every two to three years. This is the only SKYWARN training scheduled for this area (the North Shore) so please join us on Saturday 15-MAY-1999 at Noon. For amateur radio operators, talk in will be on the Haverhill 146.625 repeater (-600, No PL) For more information, you can contact the Haverhill SKYWARN coordinator at N1VDX@aol.com Thanks and 73 Steve W.
