                   BRITISH-AMERICAN CHILD DATA

The National Child Development Study (NCDS) is currently completing
its field activities.  Data similar to that collected for the Children
of the NLSY are being gathered in the United Kingdom from several
thousand children born to a cohort of young people who have been
surveyed several times since their birth in March 1958.  Over the
next few months, Center staff, in conjunction with NCDS staff and
other interested individuals, will be formulating plans for release
of a public use data tape which will include key (child and related)
information from both the NLSY and British data sets.

Any thoughts regarding which matched data elements to include should
be addressed to Frank L. Mott at the Center for Human Resource Research.
A public use tape including these data will be released by the Center
sometime in the future.
