I'm working with the Quality of Employment Survey, 1977, cross section.
I've found an problem with the earnings questions.  They have a question about
how much R earns (v394) and then the time period for that rate (v.395). For
examples, someone might say they earn $1000 per month, which would be
coded as 1000.00 for 394 and 4 (month) for v395.  When I ran a breakdown of
average wage per payment category, all the numbers came out OK (about $1000
per month, about $16,000 per year, etc.) except the hourly rate, which came
out at about $125/hr.  Does anyone know about a correction for this?  What
is the corrected rate?
