Hi I am a user of a Sybase 11 database and my knowledge extends to writing SQL and Stored Procedures. I do not perform DBA tasks. What I was wondering was whether there was a free/cheap product that can I use on my home PC to test out stored procedures. I guess this is either an actual SQL database (but would I need to have it on a different PC dedicated as an SQL server machine?) or some sort of SQL emulator?! Not really very knowledgeable on database hardware and software configurations, I just want to be able to practice T-SQL at home. thanks Ross

Why not check out www.mysql.com where you will find free database software and a number of client programs for SQL. It runs on your PC without a problem and is easy to install.
