Documenta Geigy, a 600 page hardcover freebie given physicians by the drug
company Ciba Geigy is a book of mathematical and scientific tables. It
contains nomograms for the assessment of body surface area which are what
I use. I just looked at it and found that they infact use the Dubois
formula, ref. Dubois and Dubois, Arch. Intern. Med, 17, 863, 1916.
The formulae they use are:
S = W^0.425 X H^0.725 X 71.84
Where S = body surface in square centimeters
[D[DW = weight in kilograms
[D[DH = height in centimeters
