A few quick notes about this issue:
The title refers to a storyline written by Ken Schmidt (see last
issue's intro notes) in which most of the LNH was mind-controlled. (It's
too complicated to explain any further here, but if want to read it, it's
in the ftp.dhhalden.no archives, somewhere in the LNH section. It's called
the Great Public Domain Caper.)
Pliable Lad, Kid Chivalry, and wReamhack are the primary LNHers in
this story.

"...You have simply got to read this posting I found on alt.flame.",
Bad-Timing Boy said to Occultism Kid. "It's just great."
"Okay, okay.", a slightly annoyed OK sighed. He was trying to read
up on computers, but was having a hard time that afternoon.
The two net.heroes walked down to the computer lab where B-TBoy was
logged in. B-TBoy offered Occultism Kid the seat at the terminal, and the
LNH's magic-wielder-extraordinare took it and studied the screen, on which
an article on alt.flame was displayed.
"This is it?", he asked Bad-Timing Boy.
"No, the next one.", B-TBoy said, hitting the 'n' key.
By the time the article took up the whole screen, Occultism Kid's
mind was no longer his own.

"Master, I have found the rnring!", the servant at the computer
said.
"Where is it? Tell me!", the Master of the Net yelled at him.
"It is in the LNH's basement storeroom.", the servant replied.
"Excellent.", the Master said. "How many of the LNH have been
coverted?"
        "Over two-thirds, master."
"Good, good. Why bother breaking into the LNH's headquarters
to steal the rnring when I can have *LNHers* do it for me? Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha
-ha!!!!!"

High above the streets of Net.ropolis, Pliable Lad and Kid Chivalry
bounded across buildings on their way back to LNHQ. They were each carry-
ing a bag of comics, recently bought at Forbidden.Net, and the bags looked
rather full.
"So, what did you get again?", KC asked Pli.
"Legionnaires #8, Flash #84, Hulk #311, WildStar #3, New Warriors
#40, Firearm #1, Prime #4...Oh, the list goes on.", Pli said with a grin.
"What did *you* get?", he asked his friend.
"Oh, the usual. Sandman #55, Avengers #three-sixty-whatever, the
newest X-book...", KC trailed off, his attention caught by something down
by LNHQ. "Hey, Pli..."
        "Yeah?"
"What do you think that van is doing there?", KC asked.
"I don't know.", Pli said. "Let's check it out."
When they reached the van, they found it was parked right in front
of the front door of the LNHQ...which was wide open.
        "I smell trouble.", Pli said.
"So do I.", KC said. "What say we check it out?"
"Okay, but be really careful.", Pli said. "I've got a bad feeling
about this."
"Check." Kid Chivalry teleported into the LNHQ, appearing just inside
the front door, but crouched on the wall. A second later, he was gone again.
The sounds coming from the auditorium told KC that almost everyone
was there. Using his power of super-sneakiness, he slipped into the room and
hid behind a pole.
What seemed to be the entire LNH was gathered around a man in a pur-
ple bodysuit and cape. Multi-Tasking Man was handing him a ring, and the man
took it and put it on his finger.
"Now at last I am all-powerful!", the man exclaimed. "With this
ring, I can post my control messages to all newsgroups simultaneously--and
then the Net will be mine!!! Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!"
This didn't look too good to Kid Chivalry, and he was wondering why
in the net.world the LNH would back the man. Then he saw the look in their
eyes.
        They were being mind-controlled.
Kid Chivalry was about to sneak back out of the room when Bad-Tim-
ing Boy noticed him behind the pole. (Hey, even bad timing can beat out
sneakiness. :) "Look! An unconverted LNHer!", B-TBoy shouted.
"What?", the man in the center of the room asked. "Get him!",
he yelled, pointing at KC.
"I am gone!", KC yelped as he teleported out of the room.

Pli entered the monitoring room to find that it appeared to be des-
erted. He was about to leave for the second floor when he heard a banging
sound from the closet.
Opening the closet door, he found wReamhack inside, bound and gag-
ged. Untying him and removing the gag, Pli asked, "What happened?"
"Everybody's being controlled! Some of the others tried to get me
to look at some article, but I refused, so they tied and gagged me up and
left me here.", wReamhack said.
        "Who's controlling them?", Pli asked.
Just then, Kid Chivalry burst into the room. "We've got to get
out of here.", he said. "Some guy in purple with a cape has taken over
the LNH!"
"Don't tell me Tsar Chasm's back.", Pli said.
"I think I'd prefer Tsar Chasm over this guy!", KC said. "This
fellow doesn't have all his marbles, if you know what I mean."
"I get the picture.", Pli said.
"Oh, yeah, he's got some sort of ring we had here. Claimed it
had something to do with posting."
"The rnring?!?!?", wReamhack exclaimed. "Oh, man, are we in
trouble!"
        "What's that do?", Pli asked.
"Believe me, you don't want to know.", wReamhack replied. "We've
got to get to the computer room before he does. We've got to stop him
from posting."
        "Right. Let's go", Pli said.
The three net.heroes ran out of the computer room and started to
head down the hall towards the computer room, only to find the path block-
ed by several LNHers. Behind the three, others were also approaching. Pli
knew they were in trouble when he saw that the first group was being led by
none other than Ultimate Ninja!
"For the glory of the Master of the Net," UN shouted. "you will
die now!"

In the computer room...

"Ha-ha!!!! I have done it! Within the day, the entire Net will
mine!!!! MU-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!"
