ADMINISTRIVA: A Few Hints

This is, hopefully, the last of the recent spate of Administriva posts
dealing with the shirts until a time which I'll explain a little further
down. Before I get to that...

I'd like to say that circumstances have changed yet again on the shirts; My
original price was invalidated by the forty-eight shirt minimum order for a
seven-screen shirt, and now the second (two-for-$30) price has been booted
as well, thanks to the kind volunteerism of the Almighty Artiste. I have
suspicions about the real, honest-to-goodness price (I think we'll be able
to offer one for fifteen and two for twenty-five, but that is NOT repeat
NOT an 'official' price. I may insist on two-shirt orders; we really DO
need forty-eight shirts sold before I can even go to the printer.)

We _are_ going ahead on the seven-screen shirt idea (CMYK+glow-in-the-dark
on the front, duotone on the back, six heroes on the front, and a currently
unspecified something on the back) but negotiations with various parties
are as-yet unfinished.

If you've already sent your check, then I thank you, and I'll just say that
all checks that I get that are postmarked by yesterday (August 14th,) if
any there are, will either get excess cash refunded (tucked in with the
shirt) or, if the prices are low enough, a second shirt, and I'll eat the
difference between what you paid and what you would need to pay for a
second.

Lastly, in this part of this post; this will be my final Administrivia post
until I have the art in hand, a firm price per shirt, and enough
antihistamine cream to stop these darn bug bites from itching.

And now, to the second point:

You may have noticed, in recent days, several people replying to the list
with "Yes! I will buy MASS QUANTITIES OF SHIRTS! I admit that without a
shirt, my life will be EMPTY AND WITHOUT MEANING!"-style messages. That
you're sending messages is good; it lets me know that this whole shirt
concept is of interest to the general community. However, and I can't say
this strongly enough;

if you're going to reply, don't do it to Superguy.

        Reply directly to r.furr@genie.geis.com.

If you're reading this in bit.listserv.superguy, leave your
newsreader and use your mail program to reply. If you're reading superguy
as a mailing list; don't just hit "R" or whatever your mailer uses to
initiate a reply; write a whole, spiffy-keen new mail message. This'll save
everyone a lot of time, and, as an added bonus, it'll keep other people
from knowing either a: how cheap you are (if you say "No! I only want one
shirt!") or b: what a great person you are (if you buy, say, eight.)
