We have some PCs. They are NEC Powermate 386 & 486s. They have
color vga monitors and big hard drives. We would like to connect
them to our existing (and working) Workstation network in order
to use them as 'dumb' terminals and get access to the printer
on one of the ews's. We have 3com 3c503 boards and PC/TCP Network
Software version PC210(Generic) TCP software. Maybe it would have
been easier if whoever ordered the stuff in the first place, had
ordered the PC/TCP version especially for the 3C503. But he didn't,
he's gone, and I'm trying to make it work. I'm an English speaker
in Germany trying to install American software on Japanese PCs; I'm
about at the end of my rope. Anyway, I 'feel' that we're just a
matter of a minor tweak to the autoexec.bat and config.sys files
from having it work. Other useful information: we're using thick
ethernet, the board diagnostics appear to work, etc.

I've gotten lots of suggestions like, change the interrupt
level/number, etc.

The PC210 instalation instructions seem a little vague, especially
compared to the other versions. I think we are maybe missing a
reference or definition to a protocol.ini file of which I found a
skeleton down on one of the Clarkson freeware diskettes.

Sooooo. Can anyone me a list of changes to config.sys, autoexec.bat,
suggested switch settings, and any other pertinent information?
Fax replies also can be handled at +49-221-594-531.
Thanks in advance & std. disclaimers apply.
Even installing windows wasn't this difficult. :)
