I have been asked to provide a service machine that will accept NETDATA files and convert them to card images or print images and then either wrap control information around them (maybe JCL) and send them to another host or write them to tape or both. Due to the potential size of these files, I am constrained to perform deblocking in memory (which I prefer in any case) rather than reading them to disk as an intermediate step. I would like to locate sourced programs that can perform any steps in this process. My preference is use of Diagnose interfaces to process the Spool Files and drive tape. If anyone knows how to drive the virtual punch more than one record at a time, I'd also be interested in that. My current plan is to use REXX (with Pipes) and write whatever assembler primitives turn out to be necessary. Dwight (not a Piper, so plumbing suggestions and hints gratefully accepted)
