You could use Arty Ecock's RAMDISK program (on the '91 VM Workshop Tools
Tape) to create a virtual mdisk, then use the old familiar CMS commands
to do what you need to do.  We've done that with a couple of SVM's that
were generating a significant volume of DASD I/O as they crunched away
at temporary work files.
