How can I delete a empty page?

I have a problem in word, where I have one extra page always
going to the printer, even though it's blank. What can I do to
(delete) get rid of it?

A couple possibilities -

Make a backup copy of your document, then try one or both:

You might have a table at the bottom of what should be the last page. It's
tricky to size things so you don't get an extra page in this situation.
Try replacing the last paragraph mark with one in the smallest font size
available (and make sure you can see those paragraph marks so you can see
what's happening).

Or

Try the Word command ToolsShrinkToFit, which attempts to shrink everything
in your document just enough to shrink it by one page. If you don't have a
button for this command, you can find it in Tools, Macro, Macros Available
In, Word Commands.

David

This could be extra paragraph marks at the end of the document.

I've used Word for seven years (1.1., 2.0, 6 and now7) and have
always worked with the non-printing characters showing, but I
very seldon find that anyone else does.

Does anyone have a viewpont on this? To me, working without
the signs would be like a musician saying that he'd be happier
reading the notes without all those lines!

I've done a lot of work changing the format of documents -
changing an address list from a column of text to the format for
printing labels, for example (which involves changing paragraph
marks to line breaks)

Working with the non-printing characers showing is (I've found)
especially useful if one has to amend documents created by other
people.

Best regards

Position the cursor immediately after the last blank character of the
document then select the blanks that follow (shift key and down arrow).
You will probably find a few lines are selected down into the empty page
until selection stops at the hidden end of document. Delete blanks with
delete key and empty page will disappear.
