Hi, I'm still using Word95. For the first time I am composing a document that will be 5 to 10 pages long. What troubles me is that after the first 6 or seven paragraphs, the wavy red line that signals a mis-spelled word no longer appears. I can go up a couple of lines in the document and it appears. If I scroll downward to the next paragraph, I can type in incorrect words all day long and it doesn't give me the wavy line. I'm sure this has been discussed years ago, but could someone please email me the solution to this problem. It is driving me bananas. Thanx.

The automatic spell-check will turn off if there are too many errors in a document, but that shouldn't be the case here. You don't mention what happens if you run a full spell check? One thing to check is if this text is formatted as "no proofing". Select some of it, then go to Tools/Language and try applying the language you're using. See if any kind of spell check runs, then. It's also possible that your document, or the template you're using to create it, has a touch of corruption. Does the same thing happen if you start a new document? What about if you rename the default template (Normal.dot to Normal.old), then restart Word. Does a new document still exhibit the problem?
