How about surrounding the answers with a style which either does nothing or sets the color to white depending on which style library you load? This looks like it should work with a postscript printer (I did a print to-disk and looked at the disk file, but did not actually print it).

This looks like it should work with a postscript printer (I did >a print to-disk and looked at the disk file, but did not actually print >it). This suggestion actually gave me an idea for what might be the simplest solution for this problem. Just delete the text of the answers from the document before printing the "questions only" version, and remember not to save the resulting "questions only" version over the file containing both questions and answers. A macro could quickly and easily delete all the answers by searching for patterns in the document which indicated the beginning of an answer, turning block on, searching for pattern which indicated beginning of next question, then deleting the block. An even better method might be to enclose all answers between "strikeout" codes. (Entered by <ctrl-F8>, <A>ppearance, <S>trikeout). Can then use WP function under <alt-F5>, <G>enerate. On the menu which then appears on screen, choose "<R>emove redline markings and strikeout text from document". (When printing the "question _and_ answers" version, then, you would want to do a quick 'search and replace' (<alt-F2>) on the strikeout codes, replacing them with nothing and thus deleting them from the text. This is necessary because the 'strikeout' code will print text with a slash through it. Once again, you would want to be careful not to save the 'questions and answers' version with strikeout codes removed over the file containing the questions and the "striked out" answers.) _____________________________________________ Herb Sitz University of Iowa hsitz@umaxc.weeg.uiowa.edu _____________________________________________
