Transhumanism is a philosophy that seeks to allow people to
transcend normal human limitations -- to become more than human.
There are many possibilities here. A radical possibility is to
"upload" human consciousness (or brain activity, if you prefer) into
safer hardware, like some kind of computer. A more moderate possibility
would be something like the improvements made to the "Six Million Dollar Man".

There have been several movies and tv shows that have had
transhumanistic themes. Let's discuss them.

My personal favorite is "2001: A Space Oddysey". Ape transcends
to the level of humanity, and man to transhumanity (or posthumanity).
The theme is very strong. Even though Kubrick gives the movie a mystical
feeling, it isn't religious at all, at least not in the traditional sense.
I view this movie as saying "let's get on with it!" and "let's not stagnate
like those stupid apes at the beginning of the film who couldn't even hunt!"

	What do you think?
