My fiance and I got nominated for a position which is pretty much not
what I want to do and in the place I put last on my preferences. If we
reject the first nomination, what is the chance for a second one?

My preferences on the application stated this, so it's not like I
pretended to be very open and am being very picky. - just to clarify
