Hi out there,

I would like to inform you that I work on different localisation projects for the AMIGA
family of computers. Firstly, I translate applications and tools into languages that
are already supported by the AMIGA-OS and second I'm developing new localisation languages.

Localisation for the AMIGA is supported in the following languages:

English
German
French
Danish,
Swedish
Norwegian
Spanish
Portuguese
Italian
Dutch

The AMIGA-OS is distributed all over the world in this configuration.

In autumn/winter '93 there will be a Russian & Latvian localisation available.
Other Eastern European language may follow during the beginning of the next year.

Japanese localisation is also discussed with Commodore, but I don't know how far
they are...

At the moment, I'm involved with OCTAMED 5.0, which is a music program & sequencer
for the AMIGA. I'm tranlating & organizing the localisation.

The program even supports languages, which haven't been officially released by
Commodore, such as Russian, Latvian, Slowenian, Czech, Croatian & Greek.

The program recognizes the language and loads the needed font for the language.

I'm doing the translations for Deutsch, Francais & Cesky. The other languager
are being translated by native speakers who own an AMIGA.

OCTAMED 5.0

supports the following languages:

English
German
French
Danish,
Swedish
Norwegian
Spanish
Portuguese
Italian
Dutch
Russian
Czech
Slowenian
Latvian
Croatian
Greek

This list is not complete, since other languages are always welcome.

The language files on the AMIGA are based on the IFF-standard (as everything else too
on the AMIGA) and take up only 30KB each on disk space, e.g. the program will be
supplied with all versions.

So, I hope you know a little bit more about localisation on the AMIGA now.

If you have any questions or comments, please send me an e-mail
