    NLS - Natve Language Support has been added. Check that out
    it's a start.



It depends on the xterminal or xserver you are using.

X11 since R3 support keysyms and the character set for ISO Latin1
(8859-1).

Some manufacturers and terminal providers provide local keyboards (such
as French) that use the latin1 codeset, and have direct keysyms
engraved and set up in the Xserver keyboard modifier map.

But if you have a standard US keyboard, you can map any of your keys to
be a latin1 character by using the standard utility called 'xmodmap'.
You'll have to read the man page for that guy.

The real problem lies if you step outside of latin1, and that a whole
different story, depending on if you are using ideographic (Japanese
etc) languages or not. X11R5 has support for some of these problems.
