Hello, I'm presently working on a design project which involves determining
problems in computer user interfaces for the high-level executive. Any
advice or insights on the difficulties that arise specifically from
executive user interfaces would be greatly appreciated. Also, comments on
actual computer applications used by executives would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmmm. Do you mean high level executives who are just using software, or
ones which manage software projects and have to deal with interface issues?

I'm aiming for the high level executives who are just using software.

IBM, in the late 1970s, offered their top executives a unique
system for looking at corporate data. The executive terminal provided
a screen and a telephone handset. Picking up the handset connected
the user to a data retrieval specialist, who could do whatever was
required and display the results on the executive's screen. (The
number of data retrieval specialists was much smaller than the number
of executives served, although I recall reading that the retrieval center
was staffed 24 hours a day.) I don't, unfortunately, have a reference for
this.
