Dialogue Bus Toolkit V2.1

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Dialogue Bus Toolkit V2.1 replaces the Jabberwocky Toolkit V2.0,
which was previously distributed through the ASSETS program and is now
being retired. Dialogue Bus Toolkit V2.1 contains updated versions of the
components of the Jabberwocky Toolkit in a single package.

New features are

o  Run-time Script Processor is replaced with the full Script compiler and
   run-time executor. Programmers' documentation for all tools is included
   in the documentation kit.

o  Dialogue Bus Message Gateway for Windows operating system replaces
   StarStream for Windows and delivers full application development
   capability and documentation in a single package.

o  License Management Facility (LMF) requirements have been simplified by
   removal of LMF control from all tools, apart from the Dialogue Bus
   itself.

The Dialogue Bus Toolkit allows users to retain their investment in well
tried and tested character cell terminal-based applications by allowing
the rapid development of application wrappers. The services offered by
applications through these wrappers may be used to provide integration
between legacy applications or may allow the applications to be refaced
by new graphical user interfaces. The facilities offered by the Dialogue
Bus Toolkit may be further extended by using it in conjunction with other
distributed three-tier client server technologies, such as Object Broker,
DCE, or DEC FBE products.
