I have an IBM Optical 4 button USB mouse, and I have a problem. After about 2 hours of contstant use, the mouse seems to go dead, as in no more power is going to it. The red scanner light at the bottom goes out, the pretty blue mouse wheel light goes out, and the computer stops responding to the mouse. Now, it seems obviouse to me that the power to the mouse is being cut off somewhere in my machine, probably the USB port is going to sleep or something. I cannot seem to find anywhere in my bios a setting to keep the USB from sleeping, if indeed that is the source of my problem. I am just curious to know if the problem is with this mouse, or is with my machine. I have the IBM mouse model #MO27FO, and an ECS k73ta motherboard, and the factory usb ports that come with it, and I am running Win 98 SE. If anyone has any ideas as to what the source of my problem could be, I would really appreciate it. (Note, I have tried the adapter that came with the mouse, to convert it to standard PS2 mouse, but then I lose functionality of the fourth mouse button, and the mouse wheel doesnt really work right in many applications, mainly games, plus the nice control panel which gives me oh so much functionality for the mouse reverts to the windows standard mouse control panel.) HELP! Alex W.
