Computer System Technician
Utilities Administration

NATURE OF WORK:
This is a highly technical, professional administratative position
requiring minimal supervision. An employee is this position is
responsible for the maintenance of the computer network now
functioning in the Utilities Department,and expected to also serve
other city departments in the near future.  The current network is a
Unix-based operating system running on a variety of Sun Microsystem
products with approximately 50 personal computer workstations.

EDUCATION AND JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Computer Science or related field with over three (3) years
experience maintaining computer systems in medium-sized organization;
municipal experience preferred. Must have experience with Sun
Microsystems equipment,systems and software systems and be proficeint
in SUN Microsystems Unix operating systems,or any equivalent
combination of training and experience that meets the job
requirements.

STARTING SALARY
$14.63 hourly, with insurance, vacation, sick leave, holidays and
other benefits.
