Hi all, I'm a newbie in Unix World. I have read the manual for command 'passwd' but are not able to fully understand it and are hoping that you will be so kind to help me out. My questions are: 1) How to get the 'passwd' command to read the 'passwd' from external text file? Meaning the command can complete without we physically key in and reconfirm the password,, instead it read from teh external file. 2) Will the -stdin option help? If yes how or if no is there any other way to go around it? Thank You for your kind help daniel

Hi Daniel, i cant help you directly, bat i can give you following hints: if you get the password input from a file, its very easy to hack it. if you get the password input from standard input and call it from a batch, then its more easy: so i can start the loop: while : do ps x OR ps -aef sleep 2 done >$Myhome/Password_collectfile.txt & after two weeks i can filter all your passwords, that you ever typed because above, getting passwords from a file or from standard input is usually protected. the must be a way but sorry, i dont know it. best regards, Niru Madani -- ANM-Computer@gmx.de http://www.n-madani.de -- "Daniel Chieng" <danielchieng@visto.com> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:39e41ad5.26344672@news.tm.net.my...> Hi all, > > I'm a newbie in Unix World.
