Title: PKI Services - Design and Implementation
Time: 09:30am
Abstract:
The seminar would comprise of a brief intoduction on PKI and its
services, concentrating mainly on OCSP service. A brief outlook of OSCAR -
DSTC's Public Key Infrastructure Project would also be a part of the
introduction.
The Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) enables applications to
determine the revocation state of an identified digital certificate.
OCSP is a protocol designed to determine the current status of a digital
certificate without requiring CRL's (Certificate Revocation List).
The protocol is based on the Internet-draft posted by one of the
working groups of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

Title: Automated CORBA Server Test Facility
Time: 10:00am
Abstract:
The aim of this project is to develop a test facility for CORBA servers
which allows an automated testing for such servers.
I'm using OrbixWeb Professional 3.0 and Java on SUN Solaris for the
implementation. The two most important CORBA elements I use are the
Dynamic Invocation Interface DII and the Interface RepositoryIR.
Since this project is still in an early stage, I will primarily talk about
these two CORBA features.

Title: GARDMON - Monitoring System for Gardens Point
Time: 11:00am
Abstract:
Workstation clusters have off late become a cost-effective solution for high
performance computing. In the present IT environment, the availability of
high-speed networks and increasingly powerful microprocessors is making the
usage of clusters (or network of computers) an appealing cost-effective vehicle for parallel computing.
As Cluster Computing is fairly a new concept, we have decided to take up this
project which would help us learn more about this new technology which is
poised to open a new front in the field of network computing.

Title: Metrics Collection Tools
Time: 12:00pm
Abstract:
This project concerns the development in Black Box of a metrics tool used
to interpret an Object-Oriented design tool, Rational Rose. Rose uses UML
to model designs. A discussion will be made of the various metrics used
in the tool and their relevance in the project. The techniques and
technologies of interfacing the two tools will be covered including the
use of the Rational Rose Extensibility Interface.

Title: Games and Graphics
Time: 2:00pm
Abstract:
This project is a space flight simulator that was programmed in Visual C++
using DirectX. It uses such features as the ability to move in 3D space and
around other objects which also exist in 3D space as well as using the
concepts of modelling 3D objects.
