You are invited to attend the following seminar:
Speaker: Dr. Shlomo Geva
Senior Lecturer
School of Computing Science
Title: Feature Selection for Nearest Neighbor Classification
Date: Tuesday, 10th August 1999
Time: 12.00pm
Place: Lecture Theatre S303, Faculty of Information Technology,
Queensland University of Technology
Abstract:
---------
The seminar will present a feature selection program for pattern
classification, function approximation, and time series prediction.
I will present a Windows based program (for distribution) that I developed
while on PDP recently.
It enables one to explore relationships amongst attributes in data files.
It may be useful in data mining applications (both classification and
association rules) signal processing, and any application where one intends
to use vector quantization, Radial basis functions, or case based reasoning.
The program can accept C5.0 format files (as well as MATLAB ASCII format),
so that comparison figures with C5.0 are easily obtained.
