The conference will start with one day of tutorials and will continue
with three days of technical presentations. The conference will
provide a forum to discuss recent advances in computer networks and
communications and distributed systems. Dr Nicholas F. Maxemchuk
from AT&T Laboratories and Prof. Raj Jain from The Ohio State University
will deliver keynote speeches at ICON'99. The conference proceedings are
   published by IEEE Computer Press.

  ABOUT CONFERENCE LOCATION

Brisbane is a subtropical city positioned between the major tourist
destinations of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. This part of
Australia is renowned for its outstanding beauty. Brisbane also
provides a good starting point for trips to tropical North Queensland
and its coral reef (the Great Barrier Reef). For more information
