Job Description - Hardware System Modeling Engineer

The Hardware System Modeling Group's mandate is to exploit the
potential of HDL languages and simulation technologies to develop
improved methods for ASIC intensive system development that enable a
shorter overall design interval. We operate by attaching ourselves to
major development projects, assimilating into the ASIC and System
development groups, augmenting these teams with our expertise in
behavioural modeling, simulation, synthesis and software development.
Our focus is on shortening the HW design and verification interval and
reducing the probability of chip iterations due to chip spec and
implementation errors. Our primary product focus is ATM switching
equipment. The methodology we are proving in involves rapid
development of behavioural models for each ASIC in parallel with the
RTL coding phase. This enables concurrent work on ASIC and system
conformance simulations. In '95 we will continue our work in ATM
system simulation and launch a new effort aimed at exploiting
behavioural modeling at the ASIC specification stage of a new design.

We are looking for a bright and motivated individual to join our
group. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in
tomorrow's design methods mixed with a desire for hands-on experience
in today's world of hardware design. Excellent personal organization,
team work and interpersonal skills are critical to this job. The
following technical knowledge or experience will prove valuable:

- ASIC design using RTL synthesis techniques
- hardware system design (telecom)
- behavioural modeling using VHDL, Verilog, FML2, or other HDL's
- digital simulation and RTL synthesis techniques
- modern software development practices and discipline
