   The training department at Bell-Northern has a requirement to develop
interactive training packages for users of Unix workstations.  The
material should introduce users to new software packages, show how they
work, and ideally allow simulated (or real) interaction with the
software.  The trainers are familiar with the Mac environment,
specifically Hypercard and Macromind Director, but want to move into the
Unix/X environment.  They are comfortable with windows, icons and direct
manipulation, and unwilling to use command-line interfaces.  Eventually,
they will need to develop high-quality color graphics, add sound
annotations and commentary, and they will need to incorporate captured
screens from other software packages into the material, but are
currently addressing an audience using (mainly) monochrome HP9000 Series
300 & 400 stations running HP-UX 7.05.

   The ideal tool would allow users to multi-task, switching back
and forth between the training package and the subject software.

   Can anyone out there suggest a package which would be of use
to them? Has anyone had any experience in developing interactive
material in a Unix environment?
