                              Presentation and Live Demonstration


                              About the Talk
                              --------------

Marty Milette will be giving a product demonstration, with explanation, of the
Butler-in-a-Box home automation system.  It is referred to by the Smithsonian
Institute as the "HAL-1" because it is the first fully integrated voice
controlled automation system for home use.

During the demonstration, Marty will

  - give a brief explanation of what the X-10 home automation protocol is,
    and how it is used

  - show how the Butler functions in an X-10 environment

  - explain the four modes of operation:  time, touch, situation, voice

  - walk through and explain the steps necessary to program the unit

  - show the unit in full voice interactive operation
