Some idiot decided to use my car as a parking bumper and left a fold in
my fender and bumper and took off a goodly amount of paint. If it was
you, thanks (not) for the suprise.

Anyways, since the car is only 10 months old, I figure I'll get the damage
fixed. I'd like recommendations on body shops (and ones to stay away from
too).

Thanks...

I had my Jeep stolen at the end of October and took it to Lusitania
Collision on Richmond Road.

I would NOT!!! recommend them.

My insurance company has said nothing but "fix it" for all of the
broken, scratched or missing bits.

The auto body company has taken a detailed list of things to fix from
me and then said they were done, but when I picked up the car, they
were not fixed! This happened a few times.

The car was in immaculate condition before the theft, and when I said
clean the upholstery because it was all muddy, they said "well, the
car is 8 years old, the upholstery must have been dirty before". The
attitude was that since the car was 8 years old, most thing must have
been broken already (which they were not! I have sunk a lot of money
into the car over the years to keep it in mint condition.)

They have replaced some plastic moulding with new stuff and the paint
is all peeling off (I did not know that all this plastic now comes in
beige and they paint it to match.). When I got a bit hot about the
poor quality of the paint on this plastic the guy said "don't yell at
me, we sub-contract this out, besides, you have some peeling here too"
and this is a place that I am sure they have touched up as well to get
a good color match.

I feel they have no idea about QUALITY, do not go to them.

Doug

Try Arnprior Auto Body. I had to use them about 4 years ago when some
yoyo in an rx7 didn't know that his car didn't drive or stop on ice.

The work was done quickly, the repairs were with all new parts from the
manufacturer and I have not had to go back for touch ups or anything of
the sort.

I have had very good results from Allards (in BC and Kanata)
(And they have a discount for BNR/NT employees.)

Hmm, I just spoke with a friend last night who had terrible service
from Allard's. Her car was vandalized earlier this year, and she ended
up with some pretty serious dents across the hood and back of the car.

She wanted to bring it to the dealer (it's a new Mazda) but her insurance
company insisted on Allards. She ended up getting the hood painted twice
and the back of the car painted three times. The people working there were
very nice but the service and quality sucked.

Needless to say, she won't deal with them again.
