Recently I read about the software kanban system in Mary & Tom
Poppendieck's book ("Lean Software Development, An Agile Toolkit"). I
was excited by the whole concept of jotting down the list of pending
tasks/features/stories on index cards and posting them on a board in a
"To Do" area. As the developers figure out what they are interested
in working in, they move the cards to a "Checked Out" area with their
name attached. When a developer is done coding and testing, he/she
moves his/her card to the "Tests Passed" area and checks out another
card.

When I presented this idea to the team, they were totally fascinated!
We surely are going to give this a try.

Does anyone out there have any experience with the software kanban
system, as described in Mary & Tom Poppendieck's book? Did it work
for you as described, or did you have to make some adjustments?

Regards,
Bhat
