We are a small financial consulting firm and are planning to extend our
services to customers with custom-made financial & accounting software.
Since we intend to sell these products, we do want to be able to
copyright them.

For this purpose we need an IDE and Builder with database-tools in a
Windows95-environment (and possibly a database manager)

For the moment we only want to build small single-user applications
but in time, these applications should become available over LAN
(client-server) and maybe even over the Internet.

So far our possible choices have been narrowed down to:
- Borland Visual Builder for C++
- Borland Delphi (Pascal)
- Microsoft Visual Builder for C++
- Microsoft Visual Basic

I would like to put two questions to you:

Which package-deal would suit our needs best
(time to develop, database-support, client-server, value-for-money,
support)?

And,

What are your experiences using (one of) these builders
(within budget development, support, ease-of-use, impossibilities,
etc.)?

Any answers, advice, comments, would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,

Factor Software development team
