Hello ,
I'm pretty new to C++Builder , and I'd like to use the ADOs for my database
operations.
In my documentation it is said that there is a component panel named
"ADOExpress" , but I can find it nowhere
in the software ( neigther in the displayed bars , neither in the
configuration dialog for comonent bars ).
I've got a Professional version of C++Builder 5, and I was wonderning if
this version realy has the ADO support ?
On the other side , I tried two things in order to have the ADOs in my IDE :
* importing the ADO from the dll provided with the Microsoft SDK
* issue an #import directive in the code in order to import the type lib
and handle the ADOs as COM objects.
Well the first manipulation gives no result : the CppB says nothing ( no
errors) but doesn't show anything in the list of the type libs that look
like the ADOs.
For the second attempt , it fails because it seems that CppB does not
support the __declspec directive (wich is Microsoft specific according to
the MSDN ). Well at least I got the following error :" [C++ Erreur]
msado15.tlh(846): E2494 Modificateur __declspec non reconnu" ( sorry it's a
french version , but it stands for modifier __declspec unknown ).
Any pointers or help would be g r e a t l y appreciated !
Thanks in advance,
Natty
