You could try to use the AfterScroll and BeforeScroll events :
void __fastcall TForm1::ADOQuery1BeforeScroll(TDataSet *DataSet)
{
    if(DataSet->State==dsEdit)
        if(DataSet->Modified) DataSet->Post();
        else DataSet->Cancel();
}
void __fastcall TForm1::ADOQuery1AfterScroll(TDataSet *DataSet)
{
    DataSet->Edit();
}
