In a TADOQuery, the convention is that the SQL statement contains a
parameter that is the same as the name of the join field from the data
set on the far end of the data source...

SELECT * FROM DETAILTHING WHERE ID = :cid

So long as the data set on the other end of the data source has a field
called "cid" it works. If not, you have to change the SQL property to
match - and as with the other situation, you must close the query before
making the change.

If you are using TADOTable, then just change the MasterFields property,
based on...

"MasterFields is a string containing one or more field names in the
master table. When the tables are related based on two fields, separate
field names with semicolons."
