GPF (Access Violation) on TADODataSet

When I call CancelUpdates() on a closed TADODataSet I get an EOleException
stating that there has been an Access Violation on $FFFFFF. When I try to
Update Batch(), instead, I ge a more logical EOleException message stating
that this cannot be done on closed DataSets.

Any hint?
Is it correct?
